Welcome welcome welcome!
I'm kicking off this blog with a friendly warning. An asterisk and a wink, if you will. Please keep the following words in mind if you care to read any of the other posts here:
What you are seeing now are pixels on a screen; some bits of light that are (miraculously) being coded into words. Those words are being crunched, processed, and interpreted into some semblence of meaning. And the meaning that is being formulated from the words is not under your conscious control. In and of themselves, these words are neutral, reflective abstractions. They were echos of the past as soon as they appeared. Ghosts, really. Only your attention in this moment reanimates them into whatever your mind interprets them to be. How solid is all that, I wonder...?
So, please don't hold tightly to anything I share here. Words come, and they are written down, because it seems like a thing to do. But mind changes constantly. Its nature, like everything else, is impermanent. As best you can, please let all this wash over you. Consider this experience more akin to listening to music than learning from a textbook. If something resonates, great! If not, great!
If you delve into other posts here, you're likely to discover that I have a love of figurative language and imagery of nature. As such, I will leave you with an analogy:
Ideas are like birds sitting on a fence. They land. They settle. But even in the settling, there is movement: eyes darting, talons readjusting, feathers fluttering. And once they've expressed themselves in that position, they fly off. Then another lands on that bit of fence to do its own version of settling, only to fly off once its time is up...
Enjoy (or not)!
