What If Your Brain's Narrator Spoke In A Language You Couldn't Understand?

Let's do a thought exercise:

Let’s say you wake up tomorrow morning feeling absolutely healthy and well. Your mood is good. Your feel good inside your skin. You smile easily. You’re looking forward to the day.

Then, like the flip of a switch, your brain’s Narrator voice changes from your primary language to a nonsense language (think Charlie Brown Teacher… “wah wuh wah wah wuh”). No, this is not a massive hemorrhagic stroke or other neurological injury; all is well. Your Narrator simply stopped speaking a language you understand.

❓If your conscious thoughts were in a language you didn’t understand, what would happen?

❓Would you still be able to go about the business of your life? Could you be you in the world without a constant stream of discursive narration?

❓Would you know when to eat, use the bathroom, work, rest, run errands, etc.?

❓How much conscious thought is actually necessary throughout the course of a typical day?

I’m very curious about your perspective on this. Of course, I have ideas of my own, but I’m actually more interested in hearing yours. Please share in the comments below if it occurs to you to do so! Thanks in advance!
